Parish and Community Links

Main Content

Our School lies within the Parish of St Augustine of Canterbury, Whitton.  We have very close links with the Church and the Parish. During their time at Bishop Perrin School, children participate in services at the church and at school, led by local clergy.

Bishop Perrin also serves the Parish of St Philip and St James of Whitton and like St Augustine’s, we have very close links with both the Church and the Parish. Junior classes visit St Philip and St James over the course of the year for Class Worship, and Father David is a regular visitor to Bishop Perrin as he helps lead whole school Worship and termly whole school Mass. He also comes in to help teach and assist with our RE lessons.

Clergy from both St. Augustine’s and St. Philip and St. James are well known to children at school.  They provide training to the pupils in the delivery of Class Worship; run our very popular lunchtime Pathfinders Club; support the delivery of high quality RE lessons; and lead masses, both at school and at their churches.

Bishop Perrin is part of the Whitton community and we support many local initiatives including the Whitton Business Association’s St George’s Day Parade and Christmas Lights event. We hold regular fundraisers to support the charity Homelink  (http://www.homelinkdaycare.co.uk) and Shooting Star Chase (https://www.shootingstarchase.org.uk).

We are very fortunate to have also developed strong links with the RFU at Twickenham Stadium and Harlequins RFC at The Stoop – we have solar panels on our roof which were part funded by the RFU and often welcome Harlequins to school to support the delivery of high quality PE lessons.

We continue to look to develop our links with the local community and support as many local initiatives as possible. We continue to look to develop our links with the local community and support as many local initiatives as possible.
