Welcome to Year 6 - your final year in primary school is going to be a memorable one!

Year 6 is a fun-packed and busy year, with lots to learn and enjoy. In Year 6 we will learn through six different themes: Tales from the Thames; To Infinity and Beyond; Your Country Needs You; To Boldly Go; Lights, Camera, Action; and Back to the Future. We will take part in Junior Citizen and cycle training; go kayaking on the River Thames in Teddington which is always a lot of fun as well as celebrate the end of Year 6 with an action-packed week at PGL.

Tales from the Thames You will learn about life along the River Thames and how rivers are important to the people who live near them.  You investigate structures to make a bridge, learn about the Anglo-Saxons, investigate and classify animals that live near rivers and compose music to create a river soundscape.

Your Country Needs You You will be learning about the soldiers who fought in the First World War, including finding out about some from our local area.

To Infinity and Beyond You will learn about the Earth, the Moon, the Sun and other planets in the Solar System, asking questions about how famous scientists have helped us to understand the orbit of the planets and the length of days, months and years.  You will develop your drawing skills by looking at shade and tone with a range of media as well as learning about musical notation and the first moon landing.
