PSHE
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” - Marie Curie
It is our school vision to ‘Celebrate learning together in faith, hope and love’ (1 Corinthians 13:13). Our PSHE lessons are an important way in which we achieve this. In PSHE, children are actively taught about respect for other people and how our community and the world is a diverse place but that we show love for one another regardless of difference. Children are taught how to be kind and look after one another and are given strategies for overcoming conflict in a respectful manner. In PSHE children are taught to look after the environment and have hope for a more sustainable world. Through this, children are taught to be responsible, global citizens.
PSHE Subject Progression Framework
Our PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) curriculum intends to prepare children with the skills and knowledge necessary to be healthy, have successful relationships and live in the wider world. PSHE, including RSE (Relationships and Sex Education), is taught throughout the school in a progressive curriculum that enables children to develop and reflect upon their developing understanding. RSE is embedded within our curriculum to enable children to learn about their bodies from Early Years.
